7 Destinations/Attractions in Nigeria You Must Visit Before You Die

NATIONAL WAR MUSEUM

At the end of the Nigerian Civil War on January 15, 1970 , the Nigerian government of the day declared there was ‘no victor and no vanquished’. It was aimed at putting the ugly episode of the war behind and speeding up the process of national reconciliation and healing

THE BENIN MOAT

Part of the world’s largest and most ancient earthwork, a complex system of moats and ramparts spread over some 6,500 square kilometers—the Benin City Walls consist of a set of inner and outer interlocking rings originally built to delineate the royal precinct of the Oba, or king, from the surrounding area. Built to an original height of more than 18 meters, and a length of 1,200 kilometers, the Iya was constructed in three stages. It was finalized around 1460, at that time being the world’s largest earthwork. The earthworks attest the development of urbanization and rise of state societies in sub-Saharan Africa, a process that began in the seventh century a.d. and culminated in the founding of the Benin Kingdom of Bronze and Ivory in the fourteenth century.

SUKUR KINGDOM

Located between Madagali and Gulag, and politically under Madagali local government of Adamawa state, lies Sukur Kingdom. More journey hours await as climbing the mountain where in spreads the actual realm is as challenging as it is amazing. Reason? You wonder how these people created a foot path of stones from the foot of the mountain to the peak—much like modern interlocking (it would be hard to swallow if modernity did not actually get its idea from them). It could be a joke but, who knows?!!!

OSUN GROVE

Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove is an organically enveloped cultural landscape associated with Yoruba traditional religion and culture. Osun Grove is a world heritage site with primary rainforest vegetation covering an area of 75 hectares of land with a buffer zone of 47 hectares surrounding it.  Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove is located along the banks of Osun River in Osogbo local government area of Osun State, South Western Nigeria.

KANO CITY WALL

Kano has probably a longer and more fully traceable  history than any other of the cities in Nigeria and its name along with that of Timbuktu throughout the World, even those who have had no special reason for studying West Africa in detail. For nearly ten centuries, a city of Kano, significant in size and importance has centered round the twin iron-bearing hills of Dalla and Goron Dutsen. It was in the 15th century A.D, about a century before Shakespeare was celebrating his own country as this royal throne of Kings.
This fortress built by nature for herself against infection and the hand of war that Kano under its twentieth Emir, Muhammed Rumfa, achieved its greatest pre-eminence in Hausaland. In later times, amidst perpetual wash of balance of tides of forces Kano was raided, besielged and occasionally conquered; sometimes by its Chief rivals among the other Hausa states, especially Zaria and Katsina; sometime by other immigrant peoples who were on the move in the western Sudan, the Kwarafa, the Kanuri, the Zamfarawa, the Gobir, the Fulani, the Ningi, the Maradi to say nothing of the British.

IDANRE HILLS

Ondo State the only state in Nigeria blessed with the highest coast line has several tourists’ centers whose historical and artistic values are unparalleled.
One of such tourist attractions is Idanre Hill in Idanre town. The town is divided into into the new settlement which is at foot of the hills, and Oke Idanre the old settlement on top of the hills.
It is a marvelous Tourist attraction with location of about 24 Kilometers Southwest of Akure the State capital. The Hill consist of about 640 steps, there are also 5 resting posts along the steps to the top. At the top there is an intriguing footprint which is widely believed to enlarge or contract to accommodate every foot. It is well believed that anybody whose foot does not exactly fit into the footprint is considered to be a witch or wizard.

OBUDU MOUNTAIN RESORT

Obudu is a place where one can easily find pure natural milk and honey. The cattle of Obudu ranch produce the milk. Despite its cold nature, the place produces pure honey. There is even a honey factory in the ranch and a very nurtured cow named Donald Duke.According to Edwin, one of the tour guides working in the resort, the weather at the resort can often get so cold that the visibility within the resort will go very low.For nature lovers, Obudu offers one of the most naturally preserved nature reserves called the Becheve Nature Reserve Obudu Plateau that is supervised by the Nigerian Conservative Foundation (NCF). In the plateau, there is the 60 metres canopy walk way, Leventis tree platform for birds and watching pen tree groove where monkeys could be seen jumping from one tree to another. One cannot leave Obudu Mountain Resort without taking a ride on the cable car. The Cable is the longest in the world from one point to another. It moves in the air like an airplane, but glides downwards, making it look like it is descending.

Diary of a randy Traveler: 4th visit to Akwa Ibom

Ahh, Akwa Ibom; home to some of the most beautiful girls in Nigeria the world. This is one place I have fond memories of. In December, I’ll be making my fourth trip over there for a short stopover in Uyo the state capital. However, things are changing fast. As more horny men discover the treasure trove of grade-A vagina, each day that passes the region gets ransacked further. If you haven’t visited this state, my advice; run there fast.

About ten years ago while on a holiday somewhere in Lagos, on our way to Ekpe beach I ran into an old lady friend from Port-Harcourt and she really was excited to see me, they were four girls in total, after some few minutes trying to catch up without wasting my precious time I begged to take my leave but requested for her mobile number, which she gave willingly and then we both parted ways. After a fun-filled sunny day at the beach with friends and “Lagos crazy girls” We raced back home.

Several weeks passed without me calling her, but on this particular I was damn horny so I decide to run through my phone contacts, for a while I couldn’t recall who Annabel was but for the probability of satisfying my sexual urge if possible. I put a call through to her; on the other side of the phone was a soft sweet voice. I tried to identify the voice without asking as this may offend a potential target but couldn’t  so I had to ask politely who I was conversing with and she told me she was a friend to my friend Annabel in Port-Harcourt. With a sudden shock I asked if she knew who I was, then she reveal that on that day at Ekpe beach when Annabel told her she knew me, she requested her to give me her  number instead of hers (Annabel), OK this is getting interesting I thought; the hunter hunted!

I asked for her location, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State she replied…. to be honest I lost interest immediately because the reason for this call had not been solved and Eka my new friend was so far from Lagos. On second thought, Uyo won’t be a bad place to visit again I thought to myself. A few minutes later I booked online for the next available flight to the Akwa Ibom International Airport, Uyo. One uncomfortable flight, 3 bottles of beer and a few heart skipping moments later, our plane landed in Uyo.

On arrival my shuttle drove me straight to Ibom Golf Resort, on my way I noticed that the city of Uyo had gone through some ultramodern projects embarked by the present government.  On getting to my room, I called my new friend to inform her of my arrival and also called some friends over for a bottle of champagne on me. I ended the night with a hotel room attendant giving me a quickie.

I woke up sound and healthy with no hangover and any sort of weakness, my city shuttle had sent a reminder text, informing me of the visit to Mary Slessor tomb in Itu, a local government council along Odukpani – Uyo road, we made a quick stop-over at an eatery for some snacks and beverages . Mary Slessor is truly is one of the heroes of modern Nigeria, she is credited with spear heading the campaign that abolished twin-child maiming in Nigeria; it was a very enlightening tour.  There were surprisingly a lot of locals on the tour too. As a first timer to Akwa Ibom, you should definitely visit the National Museum in Oron Local Government council; it is well stocked with relics and artifacts showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the locals. In Eket Local government council, you can’t go wrong if you visit Ibeno beach, this beach is so clean and free from beach touts. Eket is also the host community to one of the richest oil companies in the world, Exxon Mobil.

I glanced at my watch to be sure I wasn’t late for my date at 144 barracks road with Eka. I must confess that she isn’t photogenic and I wasn’t exactly  sure of what to expect….. she showed up five minutes after me and just like I hoped, she was yet another sexy Uyo girl (Lest I forget seventy percent of Akwa Ibom girls pass for what I call eye candy, properly groomed for the husbands delight) At the restaurant I ordered my favorite local cuisines…pounded yam and Afia Fere (white soup), just for the records, I make sure I eat at least one local cuisine a day, no matter the destination. After the heavy meal we needed a recreational center to cool off, so we opted for a movie at the silver-bird galleria Ibom Tropicana. As a BSG (bad sharp guy), I  fast forwarded the date to my hotel room undressing Eka before we even shut the door. I held her bosom from behind and fondled them almost forcefully, she turned around and kissed me like she needed oxygen….35 minutes later, we both lay on our backs exhausted; staring at the mirror ceilings;  the room was abit hazy from Eka’s after-sex cigarette. Mission accomplished. Like the say “ Akwa Ibom ado’ ok”

I could tell that Eka was definitely impressed with my bedmatics skills….she should be! I always try my best to put on a great show in the sack…now that I think about it, majority of my choice destinations are influenced by beautiful women, do you guys have any recommendations for me? http://bit.ly/WVMYUb

Diary of a Randy Traveler: Utibe my Calabar tour guide Pt 2

Apparently Utibe knew all the secret moves but choose to keep mute about it. Our next location is the historical Cross River state library located at Calabar. Built on the old Calabar prison dated as far back 1890. Renovated by the state government few years ago, as a first timer all you need do is register with N150 and this will grant you access to any part of this modern and well stocked library.

Back at my hotel room I needed no sooth sayer  to tell me Utibe was not so happy with me but as a BSG(bad sharp guy) if the case hasn’t been brought before me, then surely everything must be cool. Just to make her happy and also to get her in the mood, I ordered a bottle of champagne and dashed for the chocolate bars in my suitcase. In a short while the room attendant brought my order and we toasted to our union and to prosperity. Utibe told me more about the rich culture and more about the Duke family, we cuddled while she was at it, she proved to me that in her tribe they are taught how to take proper care of their men sexually and otherwise.

After what seemed like two hours of “intensive cardio activities” Utibe rested her head on my chest and popped the big question; “so tell me, will you call her?” I was speechless for about ten seconds, at first my intention was to deny but… hey, she knows. She told me to be careful with the lady at the restaurant if I must get down with her.  She also insisted that I call the lady in her presence.  I did!!Mrs. Ubong (not real name) and I schedule a meeting in at any place of my choice, this brings us to our next location: Aqua Vista farms and resort.

Aqua Vista Farms and resort has a magical charm of equatorial greenery and is tucked away from the busy city, in the ancient beautiful community of Calabar. The resort is surrounded by gorgeous landscaping, giving it a tropical feel. We enjoyed a fabulous fish barbecue outdoors during the lunch time into the evening. Aqua Vista Farms offered us good food and memorable times with fantastic service. During the day we enjoyed a refreshing time at the water edge, while listening to the sound of birds chirping. I had an exciting time with Mrs. Ubong, who revealed herself to be an unapologetic Cougar. She confessed that she couldn’t help but stare when Utibe and I sat at the restaurant the previous day. She invited me to her resident after assuring me there was no cause for alarm…. yea right!

After a nice time chatting at her well furnished mansion, she asked if I want to see her nakedness. I was a taken aback at her straight forwardness, obviously, she doesn’t play around! Sure I replied the next thing we drove to a bar at Tinapa business resort, we had an amazing day and later we drove back to my hotel room. It was like a fantasy come true.  Amazing company, great sex too and a really warm and loving woman. We’ve been dating for about 2 years now. She turns 40 this month.

Later that evening, Utibe came by very eager and curious to hear the whole gist. I obliged her giving her a count for count action of how my date went. I could see the jealousy growing with each sentence. I knew that she didn’t just come to hear me brag about my conquest so I summarized the gist…and handled my business…yet again! Now you see why Calabar is called the SIN CITY. Of all my years of travel, Utibe has been my most memorable tour guide. http://bit.ly/RP06F8

Diary of a Randy Normad: Utibe my Calabar Tour Guide

If it’s your first time visiting Calabar, there are certain sightseeing attractions you just don’t want to miss. Follow this Manswersonline first-timer’s itinerary to discover some of the spots that make Calabar a world-class destination.

Prior to my memorable visit to Cross Rivers, like every other tourist who hasn’t visited this beautiful city, Calabar(sin city) so many breath taking stories has been told, both good and bad. wondering where should begin this escapade that will linger in my heart for the rest of my life. before i expose my little secret, for the benefit of those wondering why the name “SIN CITY”, a visit to Calabar will give you a million reasons how the name SIN CITY emanate.

Once upon a time, I met this very beautiful lady in a group chat, so i invited her for a private chat(PM), my first message to her was “ASL”(Age,Sex,Locaton) and her response was “24,F,Calabar, before i bore you with the details of the chat. In a couple of minutes she started sending picutres, and right on the spot i knew Calabar was my next destination.

Right from Odukpani to 8th Mile, I was welcomed with a beautiful undulating and mountainous landscape. As an adventure junkie, I was fascinated by this. In a couple of minutes I was ushered into my room in a hotel at Monty Suites. As a first timer I was very relaxed contrary to my visit to other destinations, Calabar embraced me like her own. After my three hour journey from port-Harcourt by road, I had to fresh up before making any “kontrol”.

About an hour after bath my Calabar friend came knocking…hey guys relax we have to rewind back to when she sent me her pictures on. The pictures she sent were all half taken, from her waist upward, and as a bad sharp guy, I told my colleagues about my new found magnetic force in Calabar, they got curious so I had to show her pictures for proper verification, lo and behold Adekunle my colleague drew my attention to the fact that she might be handicapped that’s why her pictures were taken half-way. As funny as it seemed my mind was made up to visit Calabar (not after all this stories)…back to the knock on my door, I opened and like my boss will say “MY GOD” right before me stood a curvy African lady, spotless with all the attributes any African man will look out for in a woman. Succulent lips, her nipples were almost piercing out of her silk shirt, her jean was fully occupied with no space, and this revealed what I call ‘hips don’t lie’. Right in front of my hotel room she hugs and kissed me like she was performing CPR to save my life. After a rump of hot sex, she said “welcome to Sin City Calabar, I am your tour guide”.

…to be continued next week.http://bit.ly/Calabar

Holiday Destinations: Praslin Island, Seychelles

I have traveled to virtually all parts of Nigeria, from Lagos to Makurdi to Warri, Enugu, Kano just to mention but a few and in my sojourn I periodically realize that there is no one city alike, this brings me to my experience to Praslin Island Resort in Seychelles, touch down at Seychelles international airport en-route Praslin island airport where my colleague and I had been schedule for a seminar. On the way to our destination we were engulfed with a friendly weather and on getting to the entrance, praslin island resort the smell of floral fauna sent a pleasant breath down my nostril, the staffs were all customer friendly, now I know why this resort is rated highly by tour agencies.

The need to take a break out of busy schedule can’t be over emphasized; most times I don’t need an annual leave to take a break from work. Occasions like this are judiciously utilized and Immediately we were checked into our various rooms my expectation was met, to be candid they blew my breath aware right from the lobby to the reception, all through down to the room, the toilet is my best part. While trying to settle down with a refreshing bath, I took a glance at my wrist watch… 12:36pm it says, 2pm was for international participants, leaving me with an hour and some few minutes. In 45 minutes I was done and headed to my colleague’s room…the picturesque views along our journey to the venue of the seminar was worth documenting for vacations, honeymoons and corporate retreats etc.

I will not bore you with the details of the seminar, but the fun we had afterwards gave us the required rest we needed away from the working environment, good recreational activities we had. The fact is that we are smart workers and combining learning and unwinding is a great idea and has it health advantage. For the benefit of new readers, the previous article elaborate the importance of taking time out from your stressful and busy schedule for the purpose of unwinding in a more serene destination.
While you go through excerpt from this trip, keep your fingers crossed for yet another experience as I try to discover the next big destination. Adios http://bit.ly/14ug2nS

Holiday Destination: Caneel Bay

As a teenager with so much ambition to succeed, I dreamt of becoming wealthy and raising a happy home and every day I move towards my dream. Money is easier to make, compare to having a happy home, survey I got from wealthy family with experience confirms this. Well am not here to tell you how to raise a happy home but I will tell you how I intend to start my marriage life.

When I hear honeymoon what readily runs through my mind is a solitude time with my new bride in a classic tourist destination, experiencing imaginable and un-imaginable fun. This destination must be in the Caribbean island with state of the art modern facilities, good customer service, and a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean, great cuisine and above all a well tailored logistics.

I ran into this breath-taking resort in the Caribbean called Caneel Bay, Rosewood resort . The amazing thing about this resort that will fascinate any honeymooner is the blue sea that engulfs the island with crystal clear sands, any first timer on this masterpiece will always wish for a second time. I believe there should be “honey-in-the-moon” when planning for a honeymoon and from my survey it helps in giving couples a good start on this lifetime journey. Couples in the “dining in ruins” gives you that perfect serene beauty that abound in this magnificent ancient masterpiece

Caneel Bay invites you to disconnect in pristine surroundings and low-key luxury. The beach vacation resort, nestled within the Virgin Islands National Park on St. John, remains faithful to the vision of founder Laurance Rockefeller and his reverence for the environment. Seven secluded beaches 170 lush Caribbean acres where rooms have been artfully built to blend into the landscape. The resort remains purposefully absent of modern glitz and digital distractions, a perfect get away from the furious pace of the world at home.
